Changes to the Terms & Conditions (T&C’s) for Michael Nixon Driving Instructor. Summary of Changes: Price Increase There will be a modest price increase of £2 per hour on all lesson lengths. The price of the Pass Plus will also increase to reflect this. The new manoeuvre that was introduced to the Driving Test has been causing quite a bit of press coverage. While I see that some people including driving instructors are saying that it is dangerous and should not be done, I have to say I disagree. I was involved in the trials beforehand and have safely carried it out with all my students since then. It is something that I myself have to do often. Several times a day. read more..New hazard perception test clips - 2018
Today (19 November 2018) the DVSA has announced changes to the hazard perception test for cars, to help improve road safety. They've added 23 new CGI clips into the driving theory test to simulate adverse weather conditions including: snow wind fog and rain There will also be clips showing the type of low-level lighting experienced at dusk and dawn. Due to the dwindling numbers taking part and the fact we can now use the motorway in lessons, it is with some sadness that I have to withdraw this service. I will still be available to carry out Pass Plus training at the full price to anyone wanting to take part in a very worthwhile course. All the usual benefits from doing this course will still apply but the free course via the Local Council Pass Plus Cymru scheme will no longer be an option. read more..MOT rule changes from 20 May 2018
From Sunday 20 May 2018, the MOT will be changing. This includes 3 new defect categories - dangerous, major and minor. A dangerous or major fault will result in an MOT fail. There will also be tighter limits on smoke for diesel vehicles to help improve air quality. Vehicles more than 40 years old without substantial improvements will be exempt from having an MOT.
